Performances
Dr. Potter is in demand as a soloist and masterclass teacher around
the country. She also gives workshops on such topics as "Surviving
as a Flutist in the 21st Century," Discovering Alto and Bass
Flute," "Solving Rhythm Problems," "Tone Development," "Taming the Third Octave," and "Air Management 101." Her current performance schedule is below.
March 12 7:30 and March 13 2:00, FluteMoon2. Fiske Planetarium, Regent Drive, CU Boulder campus, Boulder, CO. Dr. Potter has organized another multi-media presentation about the many faces of the moon as seen by scientists, composers, painters and poets. She will be performing on eflat flute, c flute, alto flute, bass flute and conta alto flute. Pieces to be performed include Clair de Lune by Debussy, Moon River by Henry Mancini and Blue Moon of Kentucky as performed by Elvis Presley. Tickets are $7.50 for students and seniors and $15 for adults. Contact Chris to purchase tickets.

May 1, 2011 - The Pikes Peak Flute Choir - Colorado Springs, CO. Dr. Potter will present a full day of workshops and masterclasses and a recital featuring Stone Suite by Sonny Burnette in which Chris will be accompanied by the 40-member Pikes Peak flute choir. She will also play Return to Inishmore on eflat flute by Bill Douglas and Aspen Leaf Rag and Fugue, written for her by Boulder composer Patricia Holmberg for six bass flutes.
July 28 - Aug 1. Alto and Bass Flute Retreat, CU Boulder campus, Boulder, Colorado. Chris will lead workshops on Tone Development, Air Management, Alternate Fingerings, Becoming a Better Ensemble Player and other topics. See the Retreat pages for complete information.
August 11 to 14 - National Flute Assoc. Convention, Charlotte, North Carolina. Chris will play on several performances, including a new work for bass flute by Daniel Gunn and a commissioned piece for alto and piano by Paul Schoenfeld. The Low Flutes Committee will present a workshop on developing better ensemble skills, a workshop on new repertoire and a reprise performance of Voices from the Deep, a commissioned ensemble piece by Alexandra Molnar-Suhajda.
November 3 - 4 2012, St. Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center, California. - Chris will teach a weekend Retreat for flutes, with special sessions for alto and bass players.
